Philipp Haberlach never knows how to answer the question “Where are you from?” Born in Germany, raised in Portugal and England, attending university in Spain, Philipp is truly an ‘international’ volunteer. Philipp came to Habitat for Humanity Argentina with the hopes of improving his Spanish and enjoying the porteño lifestyle. What he found was a powerful experience. “You know about the problems, you see these things on TV, but it doesn’t affect you as much as getting to meet these families and hear their stories in person.” Philipp helped interview several families in La Matanza was impressed by just how grateful the families were for the help from Habitat for Humanity Argentina. “Five pesos isn’t much to you and me, but to these families, it’s a big deal.”
After finishing his internship in July, Philipp plans to share his experiences at Habitat for Humanity Argentina as part of an awareness and fundraising campaign in Europe.
