We are excited to be cultivating new ground in the northwestern province of Argentina, Salta. HPHA and Pro Mujer Argentina (PMA) have both identified a demand amongst mothers and families in the province of Salta for micro-finance loans to provide them with means to realize housing solutions. The organisations, detecting complementary objectives and both being the local bodies of transparent and established international organisations, declared that they would execute a pilot project in partnership with the aim of developing a sucessful enduring relationship.
The goals of the pilot project are to achieve 100 housing solutions through micro-finance loans; to offer technical advice and training to 500 mothers and families in the southeast region of the city of Salta; to achieve the human development of 500 mothers, families and children; and to transfer the methodology of progressive home improvements to PMA to enable the launch of a new type of credit that includes technical assistance, and an educational component to transfer tools to enable the self-management of the home improvements and to increase awareness on themes of housing and human development.
HPHA is currently mobilizing local volunteers in Saltaa for the event “Constructing Hope,” a key component of the pilot project, which is forecast for June 2011, with the principal aim of mobilizing national and international volunteers to help our partner families in Salta realize their housing improvements.
