Thanks to the support of our corporative and Global Village brigades, work on our Core Houses in Buenos Aires has been continuing in full force. The projects begun by volunteers have progressed significantly, and the families have already completed quite a few particularly labor-intensive steps in the construction process. Despite the heat of the summer sun, both families have installed their roofs, doorways and windows. Daniel has almost completed cementing the brick walls of his home, and Victor is now working on putting in the bathroom.
Furthermore, the foremen have been consistently onsite to direct the workflow and oversee specific construction projects. There has been great progress made with integrating visiting brigades into the construction. Overall, it’s been a very fruitful experience for all parties.
The families continue to demonstrate their full dedication to their housing solution. Besides the labor onsite, both families have been responsive to suggestions for improvement from the Habitat local offices, as well as the architects and technical advisors. Additionally, they continue to enthusiastically interact with the volunteer brigades, and are very grateful to those who have helped them so far. We plan on seeing these houses completed in the next month!
