In April a team of expert volunteers was sent to Chile on behalf of Habitat for Humanity Argentina. Their mission was to provide technical support, create a report on the social and technical diagnostics of the town of Peralillo, and deliver a donation and tithe to HPH Chile. The trip was successful in creating a stronger partnership between the affiliates of HPH Chile and Argentina, and sharing ideas about the next steps Chile can take to give support to those families affected by the earthquake and tsunami that followed.
Carolina Mansur, the Disaster Response coordinator, held a presentation on May 6th that gave attendees an idea of what affected citizens were experiencing, the responses of the local municipality, and the achievements of our team of volunteers. It was a success, and many volunteers, employees, and friends interested in the cause attended.
