Herdarias 674, the dilapidated conventillo of La Boca purchased by HPHA, is currently being dismantled as part of the Recycling Homes project. Meanwhile, HPHA is preparing approvals, contracts, and suppliers, easing the process once construction begins.
What is it like to be building in downtown Buenos Aires? Among the tasks HPHA has accomplished in recent months in preparation for construction:
– In order to attain full permission from the municipality for this construction, HPHA presented building plans to the local utility companies (electricity, water, gas, plumbing) to attain their technical approval. All ensured building viability.
– HPHA seeks to ensure the lowest possible prices for building materials. It is currently working to identify donations of materials or encouraging companies to bid for business by presenting low-price offers.
– As the building is dismantled, HPHA is carefully removing architectural elements that can be incorporated into the new building project.
